This episode features Najla Said, Trinity class of 1992. Najla is a writer, comedienne, and actress who has appeared in numerous plays, in film, and on television. The daughter of Edward Said, a professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University and an advocate for Palestinians, Najla grew up as a Palestinian Lebanese American and attended the Chapin School before coming to Trinity. Najla graduated from Princeton University, studied acting in New York City and created a one-woman show, Palestine. In her new memoir, Looking for Palestine, Najla chronicles her journey to become an Arab American on her own terms. Najla was recorded speaking in the Hawley Chapel for Upper School Community Time.
