Lifson ’68, is a partner with Crowe LLP based in New York City and a leader of the firm’s national Global Private Client Service tax and business consultancy practice, where he develops business strategies and personal financial plans utilizing both his and the firm’s broad range of accounting, audit, tax and business consulting backgrounds, both domestically and internationally.
Lifson has served on the Internal Revenue Service’s Advisory Council, the senior private sector advisory body to the IRS, and chaired its Small Business/Self-Employed Subgroup through 2011. He is also a former president of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Lifson is an accomplished author, lecturer, speaker, panelist, and media commentator on various tax and business topics. He has been named one of Accounting Today’s “Top 100” people in the accounting profession, for several years. Lifson has testified before Congress and his expertise is frequently sought out by the media, including The Wall Street Journal and The CPA Journal, where he has also been featured representing the Certified Public Accountants profession. Lifson talked in his office about taxes, tax code, and the recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
